Honest to God, I haven't been quite this proud of one of my works in a very VERY long time.
Worked on this 6h straight, changing things again and again because I wanted it to be just perfect!

For *Elvenspot's "Anne Rice Contest". For details, read her journal [link]

"Akasha is the very first vampire created.

As told in the novel, Akasha was originally from Uruk, or modern-day Iraq. She rose to become a Queen in Kemet, the land that would eventually become Egypt; she and her husband King Enkil wanted their people to turn away from their cannibalistic ways and encourage the eating of grains. Rice describes Akasha as a lovely young woman who was "almost too pretty to be truly beautiful, for her prettiness overcame any sense of majesty or deep mystery." Underneath her physical beauty, Akasha is a fundamentally dark, empty, nihilistic person with no sense of morality, ethics, or human compassion; her actions are almost always based on her insatiable need to fill her own inner emptiness."

I am always fascinated by these great computer works. I just love how people make such beauty with simply computer. I really cannot say anything, just that it is perfect picture of Akasha. Shining skin, ancient clothes with a little bit of erotica, real looking hair, and moon that makes all picture magical. I really lost words, dear. Maybe other people can see mistakes or something, but my eyes cannot catch any single mistake. A true Queen of the Damned. And she looks really dangerous. Like planning to kill somebody right now. Or looking at her dead victim somewhere under her legs.
I really love this picture. :)

This is one of the greatest works I have seen around, and I must admit that I do not get tired of looking at it. The colors palette made an excellent atmosphere, the model you choose really gave it a royalty air, and the technique putting everything together is just beautiful. The only thing that bothers me a little is how sharp the edges look in the parts where the reflection of the moon hit her, like in the top of the head piece and the back of the shoulder. Talking about reflections I love the glow of her skin.

I just have left to say, great interpretation of the character, even the people that don't have a clue who is she will know what she is.

Reminds me a bit of Aaliyah in Queen of the damned.
